Dementia Care

Dementia can be defined as a word used to describe a group of signs and symptoms including memory loss, confusion, mood changes and difficulty with day to day activities. These changes may often begin small to start with, but for someone with dementia they can become severe enough to affect daily life. A person with dementia may also experience changes in their mood or behavior. Alzheimer’s disease is known as the most common cause of dementia but not all dementia is due to Alzheimer’s. The specific symptoms that someone with dementia experiences will depend on the parts of the brain that are damaged and the disease that is causing the dementia.

At KJD Care Ltd dementia services consists of a specialist nursing home for people with dementia and other mental health conditions and dementia crisis support, a specialist community team set up to support people with dementia and their carers in their homes.

Stoke Care

A stroke is a serious life-threatening medical condition, a stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off. Strokes are a medical emergency and urgent treatment is essential.

Stroke survivors are mostly left with long term support needs because of the injury inflicted to their brain. Some will recover their independence after a long period of rehabilitation, many others will never fully recover and need to adjust to life with constant after-effects of a stroke. Adjustments that may include some level of supported living, from a professional stroke care provider at certain times of the day or round-the-clock, which we can provide.

We can help your loved one's with everyday tasks such as assisting them out of bed, bathing them, and get them dressed, as well as undergoing light housework duties around their home if required. We can prepare and cook meals, do laundry and ironing and many other tasks depending on their home care plan.

Communication and social integration are key factors to recovery and rehabilitation during the stroke condition. Additionally, we support your loved one’s well-being with opportunities for social integration, when they feel ready, by engaging in conversations with them to help redevelop their vocal functions.

Autism Care

We understand that living with an autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) including Asperger Syndrome can make everyday life challenging and this difficulty can vary dramatically between individuals. This is why we have developed a wide range of innovative autism services which meet the needs of all the people we support and ensures a better quality of life.

At KJD care Ltd, our aim is to develop the skills of the people we assist to help them make reasonable sense of the world that surrounds them through person-centred care plans, which encourages them to achieve their goals, objectives and aspirations in life. For some people this means attending college to access various several courses, for others it could be work placements and other day opportunities in-line with their objectives.
